About me
Hello and welcome to Centric Fitness!

My name is Allan and I’m the owner and founder of Centric Fitness. I’m 28 years of age and live in old Windsor.

Ever since a young age I’ve always been interested in health and fitness and have enjoyed and played a number of sports at a competitive level.

At the age of 24 I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, I remember the day I was diagnosed like it was yesterday. It’s something that has changed my life in many ways, but most of all it’s made me realise how important it is to look after your health. As a result of the condition being left undiagnosed for the best part of two years I fell in to diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and became very unwell. I think it would be fair to say the surrounding months I’d hit rock bottom both physically and mentally. Since my diagnoses in 2010, I have picked myself up off the floor, dusted myself off and climbed back to my feet and I’m now in the best shape of my life. The diabetes is now something that has to live with me, rather than me suffer with it! Having to manage my diabetes on a daily basis has given me a great insight and understanding about nutrition as I’ve experienced first hand the effects and impacts certain foods have on blood sugar and insulin levels. When it comes to weight management, good control in these two areas play an important role whether you’re diabetic or lucky enough to have a fully working pancreas!
With my health, sporting background and passion for fitness, I wanted to learn more about exercise and nutrition. I decided to take things to the next level and study with Premier Training International. Premier are the leading health and fitness training providers. During my time at Premier I gained a number of new key skills and achieved a REPS Level 3 Certificate in Advanced Personal Training and will soon be developing my skill set further by undertaking a Level 4 GP referral in obesity and diabetes. I’m regularly undertaking additional CPD courses to ensure I can provide the best training techniques and nutritional advice.

To date I have currently achieved the following recognised qualifications:

-  First Diploma in Sports Science
-  International Diploma in Sport and Excellence
-  First Aid
-  Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instruction
-  Level 3 Certificate in Advanced Personal Training
-  Certified Group Training Instructor
-  Certified Viper Instructor
-  Certified Kettle Bell Instructor
-  Certified Nutritional Advisor

I’m now in a fortunate position where I can combine the skills I have gained with my passion for fitness and use it to help others to achieve their fitness goals. Whether it’s to drop a dress size for a summer holiday, shed a few unwanted pounds after Christmas, gain good quality lean muscle or maybe you just want to generally improve your fitness level. The word personal trainer means exactly that. Each person has a different goal and I will help you achieve yours by designing you a bespoke exercise and nutritional programme. I will be there every step of the way with you offering my full support, motivation and advice.
